Named “Most Influential Woman in Construction” by Built International and 'Entrepreneur Woman of the Year', Tamika has been widely acknowledged and respected as a business woman and entrepreneur building commercially viable companies with a social conscience, delivering social & affordable housing.
From founding and building businesses in development to offsite construction, Tamika devoted her life to see the delivery of social and affordable housing to the most vulnerable cohorts within our community. With over 15 years developing innovative businesses in the sector and shortlisted for Queenslander of the Year, Tamika works with housing providers and key worker organisations nationally to see a long term approach be delivered in housing as an Executive Director, Chair, Advisor and consultant to many privatised, government and industry bodies.
Known for putting her money where her mouth is, Tamika lead the #istandforkelly initiative uniting the construction sector to support the late domestic violence victim Kelly Wilkinson. By rallying the sector to see the establishment of a new home to mark a new beginning for 8 children. In just 48 hours, suppliers nationally stood with Tamika to support this family to see the formation of a 7 bedroom home as the notion of hope & good people was equally as important as the bricks & mortar we had created to mark a mammoth community effort. In tragic circumstances, the hope that every child deserves that starts with a home.
“As a social impact entrepreneur and philanthropist, I have devoted my life to applying over 15 years of knowledge to help the vulnerable members of our communities. And more importantly to build a bridge between those organisations who help the people on the ground and those who seek to invest in it. This long term view is essential to accountability and seeing the housing on the ground we so desperately need.”
